Clough Williams-Ellis: England and the Octopus. Bles 1929. Second impression (dated a year after the original edition) in dustjacket. The jacket still looks very handsome indeed, but there is some loss at the edges & corners, most evident at the top of the spine. This is an EX-LIBRARY copy, with the following defects – a label overlaid with clear tape on the spine, a stamp on the outer edge, a barcode label on the front pastedown, a tanned vertical mark on the ffep that shows where a label had been attached, & the expected stamps & markings on the publishing information page. I can find no problems with the text pages or plates, but the blank page preceding the plates is marked, perhaps from a cup or similar having been rested on it at some time. Despite these faults, this remains a good looking copy of a hard to obtain book. £75.00
